My Coaching Style

The Approach

At Life in Motion, I coach the whole human because performance doesn’t exist in a vacuum.

You can have all the talent, drive, and physical ability in the world, but if your mind is overwhelmed, your nervous system is overloaded, or your life lacks structure, performance becomes inconsistent and exhausting. That’s why my approach integrates sport, exercise, and performance psychology with foundational lifestyle habits rooted in dietetics and exercise physiology because the athlete is never separate from the person.

I’ve worked with athletes from U13 to the professional level, as well as high performers outside of sport, and one thing remains consistent: performance is never just physical, it’s deeply human.

What We're Building

My work focuses on helping athletes and high performers develop the ability to show up with confidence, discipline, focus, and resilience not just in competition, but in everyday life. At the same time, we strengthen the habits that support performance at the deepest level: sleep, nutrition, recovery, stress management, movement, boundaries, and structure. These are the foundation that allows performance to become consistent instead of reactive.

How We Do It

This is where mental performance meets real life. We develop practical, trainable mental skills that athletes can use immediately. This includes improving focus and attention control, learning how to regulate emotions under pressure, building confidence and identity, and developing resilience when things don’t go as planned. We also work on self-talk, pre-performance routines, reset strategies, and systems that create consistency over time.

At the same time, we support the physiological side of performance. Because how you live directly impacts how you perform, we build awareness and structure around recovery, nervous system regulation, sleep and energy management, fueling and hydration, and overall movement and training habits. We also focus on boundaries, accountability, and creating routines that actually support the demands of your life and sport.

Person First Approach

Mental health is not separate from performance, I believe it drives it. Stress, anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma history, or a constantly activated nervous system can impact how you show up in every area. It affects consistency, motivation, confidence, decision-making, recovery, sleep, and emotional control under pressure. It can also make it difficult to stay present, leading to overthinking and spiraling in key moments.

That’s why everything I do is rooted in a person-first, athlete-second philosophy. The goal is not just to perform better for a short period of time, but to build something that is sustainable, grounded, and aligned long-term.

Trauma Informed Coaching

I coach with an understanding of how stress and trauma impact the brain and body, and how those patterns can show up in performance, relationships, and daily life. This means we build smarter. We prioritize regulation before intensity, create structure without shame, and support the nervous system instead of fighting against it. Athletes learn how to respond instead of react, and how to feel safe and grounded in their body while still pursuing growth. Many high performers have learned to succeed through survival mode. They’ve pushed through, ignored signals, and relied on pressure to perform. But there is a healthier way and that’s what we build.

Working Alongside Your Support System

I believe in ethical, collaborative care. While I provide coaching, skill development, and performance programming, I do not replace therapy or clinical support. When needed, I work alongside trusted professionals like therapists, physicians, dietitians, and other providers to ensure clients are fully supported mentally, emotionally, and physically.

My role is to help align performance and lifestyle habits with that care, so athletes aren’t trying to perform their way out of burnout or carry everything alone. Instead, they are supported in a way that allows both growth and well-being to exist at the same time.
