Bree Booz, MPM, CF-L2, Applied PsyCH- AAS

Founder of Life in Motion, LLC

I’m a fun-loving, caring, and grounded person at my core. I’m also a mother, an athlete, and a high performer but that didn’t start early for me. That’s something I had to grow into.

I grew up in rural Michigan, raised by a single dad. Sports gave me structure, and my village helped shape me along the way. I moved in with my mom my sophomore year, kept playing sports, and got my first job. Around that time, I started to recognize that my mental health was sometimes getting in the way of the life I wanted to build.

From a young age, I paid attention to people. How they think, how they struggle, how they grow. I knew my work would always be centered around human beings. I originally went to school for art, but I realized that wasn’t my path. Instead, I built a career in the restaurant industry, leading teams, opening new concepts, and focusing on development and culture. Even then, I led with a people-first approach.

There’s been one question that’s guided my life: “Is this the life I want and one I won’t regret at the end?”

That question has pushed me to make bold decisions. I changed high schools because I wanted more. I moved to Florida for college to experience life beyond Michigan. I eventually returned home to reconnect with family, then later moved to Cincinnati for an opportunity that ultimately changed everything for us.

When my dad passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Day in 2016, it became a turning point. It was a clear “now or never” moment. Over the next year, I took full ownership of my life for a second time in a decade. I became a personal trainer, earned my CrossFit Level 1, countless nutrition certifications, left the restaurant industry, and stepped fully into coaching. I poured everything into building a life I was proud of. That meant into myself, into my child, and into something meaningful.

The road here hasn’t been linear. There have been far more valleys than peaks. But somewhere along the way, I stopped seeing myself as a victim of my circumstances and started taking responsibility for how I showed up within them. I learned how to hold both grace and growth, by giving myself compassion while still expecting more. Sometimes it’s softness, and sometimes it’s “buckle up and get to work.”

Through years of coaching, I’ve seen the same patterns over and over. People don’t fall short because they’re incapable, they get blocked. Self-sabotage. Lack of confidence. Lack of self-trust and courage, and fear.

The real question becomes: how do we start believing in ourselves enough to move forward anyway?

I can help!

MISSION STATEMENT

My mission is to help people become better humans first, so they can perform, lead, and live at a higher level through building self-awareness, resilience, and sustainable habits that support the whole person and performer.

COACH PHILOSOPHY

My coaching philosophy is rooted in a person-first approach to performance. I believe that sustainable performance is built from the inside out, beginning with the individual’s identity, values, and self-awareness. From there, lifestyle habits such as sleep, nutrition, and recovery create the foundation that supports mental performance, including confidence, focus, and emotional regulation. Athletic performance is the result of these interconnected layers working together.
